Rejuvenate your appearance with dermal fillers, one of the most popular cosmetic treatments

Also called ‘Cosmetic skin injectables’.

“everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it”   CONFUCIUS

Dermal fillers are used to reduce lines, wrinkles, restore volume loss due to ageing, or enhance volume (e.g. in lips and cheeks). This procedure can also be used for scars caused by acne, trauma and surgery.

Most popular fillers are the polysaccharide or “sugar based” hyaluron gels. Other fillers used are the dermal/collagen stimulator fillers used for volumising and contouring the face.

The development and approval of new skin fillers in the last few years now gives us a much greater choice and better results in reducing wrinkles, creases, depressed scars and lip enhancement.  The doctors at Áda will assess and advise what type of filler would best fulfil your needs.

There are several different types of long-term fillers available in Australia.

What areas can dermal fillers treat?

Dermal fillers can be used to treat almost all areas of the face. From the forehead, temples and eyebrow shaping to cheeks and lower eyelid contouring. Even lips and peri-oral creases on the lower-face jaw line, jowls and chin. Certain depressed scars from acne, trauma or surgery can also be improved with dermal fillers.

What are the dermal fillers Áda recommends?

We recommend the naturally occurring polysaccharide or “sugar” based gels. Their popularity is due to their safety, having virtually no long-term risks and their ability to produce a soft natural look with little pain or down time. Áda uses only TGA approved dermal fillers.

How long will results last?

Results can last up to 12 months, sometimes longer, depending on the patient’s metabolism and the area treated.

Unique to this type of dermal filler is that they can be completely reversed, should you wish to remove it or any problems arise. Done by injecting the specific enzyme that your own skin produces, to safely break up the gel.

How is treatment done?

The treatment is completed in-office, many patients don’t need any anaesthetic apart from a topical cream. No skin testing is required.  Many patients are able to return to work the next day.

Who will do my treatments?

Our experienced doctors will manage your consultation, treatment planning and injections.  No ‘dermal or cosmetic injectors’ or nurses complete treatment at any Áda clinics. At Áda you will always have a doctor present to tend to your aesthetic and medical needs.

Are there any side effects?

Some small bruising and swelling is normal for most people. This will usually settle in 2-4 days. Make up will cover most small marks. More noticeable bruising can be treated by returning to the clinic for laser bruise treatment which will often clear bruising in just 24 hours. Rarely there is delayed onset of swelling and/or redness.

Allergic reaction to the product is very rare, consisting of delayed swelling or lumpiness some weeks or months after treatment. With the use of the enzyme hyaluronidase this can be reversed. Extremely rare vascular occlusion can lead to skin ulceration or blindness. With the use of the enzyme hyaluronidase these serious complications can be undone in most situations.

What’s the best dermal filler for me?

Deciding on the best type of dermal filler for you will depend on having a thorough facial skin and aesthetic assessment by our experienced doctors. They will be able to assist you in deciding on an aesthetic treatment plan to achieve a natural, healthy look.
