Enhance your lips with natural results

Lips are a defining facial feature. To maximize the appearance of their lips, people often seek a well-balanced, symmetrical and voluminous shape. Non-surgical lip enhancement using injectables can also fill out wrinkles, correct depressed scars and reshape the lips. New “sugar based” gel fillers**  make the natural enhancement of your lips easier than ever.

How do lip fillers work?

Lip augmentation involves the use of a dermal filler to enhance the shape and appearance of the lips. Injected using a very fine needle, the procedure targets specific areas for a natural result.

How much are lip injections?

The cost of lip fillers depends on a number of factors. Expect to pay more for complicated procedures or extreme results. For a more in-depth breakdown of the cost of dermal filler, download our free guide here.

Are lip injections safe?

Lip injection procedures are safe when conducted by a highly trained professional in a safe environment. Here at Áda Aesthetic Medicine, our procedures are performed by trained physicians to ensure your safety and optimum results.

How long do lip fillers last?

The longevity of lip fillers depend can depend on anything from your metabolism to lifestyle. In many people, lip enhancement results can last up to 12 months. Some may see even longer lasting results, though there is no way to predict this.

How long does the lip treatment take?

Lip filler treatments take about 30 minutes in our office. Most patients can return to work in a day or two if there is no noticeable bruising.

Are there side effects of lip enhancement?

Immediate swelling and noticeable lip bruising are the main side effects, and can be expected. These are temporary and will usually settle within a few days.

Rare side effects include delayed swelling and redness, infection and activation of herpes cold sores on lips. Very rarely, vascular occlusion (blood vessel blockage) can occur, leading to skin necrosis and scarring.

Can the injected treatment be removed?

Yes. A protein enzyme can be injected to completely dissolve the gel lip filler if necessary.

Who will be doing my treatment?

At Áda Aesthetic Medicine, only experienced aesthetic physicians do the consultations and injectable treatments. No dermal or cosmetic nurses are used at Áda clinics.

FAQs

What are lip fillers?

Lip fillers are injectables that are used to enhance the appearance of the lips. The formula works by reshaping the lips, filling out wrinkles, and adding volume, and is injected with the use of a very fine needle. The procedure targets specific areas of the skin in order to produce a natural-looking result. Each lip filler treatment typically takes around 30 minutes to complete.

Are lip injections painful?

While the injections involved in lip filler treatment may cause minor discomfort, it’s generally not a cause for major concern. Your provider will apply numbing cream to your lips before the procedure to minimise discomfort and make the process more comfortable.

Are lip injections temporary?

Similar to many cosmetic treatments, lip fillers are not permanent. However, they typically have a lasting effect, and you can opt to undergo a touch-up procedure in the future if you desire.

How much lip filler do I need?

Your aesthetic physician will create a customised treatment plan based on your desired outcome and unique facial features, although you can communicate your preferences. Ultimately, the amount of lip filler you receive is your decision. If you are looking for a more noticeable increase in volume, you may opt for a plumper pout, while a more subtle effect can be achieved by adding modest volume.

Who administers lip filler treatments?

Your treatment will be performed by an experienced, highly-trained physician. This means that the procedure is safe and effective. The procedure is performed at our offices, and in most cases, patients are able to return to work a day or two after treatment if there is no visible bruising.

How will my lips feel with lip injections?

After lip injections, your lips may feel swollen, tender, and fuller. There might be some tightness or temporary numbness as well. Any lumps or irregularities are usually temporary. Contact your medical professional if you have any concerns.

How often do I need to get lip injections?

The frequency of lip injections depends on factors like filler type, metabolism, and desired results. Dermal fillers aren’t permanent, so touch-ups are needed to maintain lip fullness. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers typically last 6–12 months, varying per person. Touch-ups may be scheduled every 6–9 months or as the effects diminish. Discuss with your medical professional for personalised advice.

What can I expect after a lip filler treatment?

It is quite normal to experience some bruising and swelling after your treatment, which should resolve itself after a few days. In rare cases, patients may experience delayed swelling, redness, infection, and the activation of cold sores on the lips. Once any side-effects have subsided, you will notice fuller, more symmetrical lips as well as reduced appearance of wrinkles and scars. Lip enhancement results can last up to 12 months.
