Scar Removal Sydney

Scar Removal Sydney

At Áda Aesthetic Medicine in Sydney, we are experts in treating all kinds of scars, whether they are from surgery, weight loss or weight fluctuations, acne, or other. Whilst often looking unsightly, some scars can also hinder your mobility and movement which can drastically affect your everyday life.

At Áda, we have been treating scars for over 25 years and use a range of non-surgical procedures to improve the appearance of all kinds of scars – from stretch marks and acne scars to hypertrophic scars and even keloid scars.

Our experienced doctors at Áda will consult with you to decide on the best course of treatment for your individual needs, ensuring the most optimal results.

Laser Scar Removal

At Áda, we use a range of specialised lasers to treat all different kinds of scars on all parts of the body. For example, for old, pale scars and stretchmarks we use a fractional laser, for red scars we use vascular lasers like the KTP laser, YAG laser, and BBL, and for pigmented scars, we will use a specialised pigment laser such as the Ruby or YAG.

Each laser performs differently, allowing for optimal scar reduction and the best possible result. Our expert laser doctors will be able to advise you on the ideal solution to reduce your scars during your consultation with us.

As our treatments are non-surgical, there is no need to attend day surgery or undergo any local anaesthesia – there are other treatment options for scar removal such as scar revision procedures which are usually performed by plastic surgeons and involve a more invasive surgical procedure.

Scar reduction treatments at Áda in Sydney are a quick and virtually pain-free method of dramatically improving the appearance of scars – you may experience some slight discomfort during the treatment but this is short-lived due to the nature of the advanced laser treatment. Topical numbing creams can also be applied to promote comfort during the scar reduction procedure.

How many laser scar removal treatments will I need?

Each case is different and depends on the type and size of the scar, how established the scar is (how long you’ve had it), and how your skin responds to the laser treatments. Usually, at least 3 treatments will be required, at 6-8 week intervals, and on average around 6 treatments give the best results for scar reduction but this does vary depending on each case. Our experts will be able to advise you and consult with you along your scar reduction journey to ensure the best possible results for you and your skin.

How much does laser scar removal in Sydney cost?

Treatment costs vary depending on the size and type of your scarring, the laser required to treat the scar, and the number of treatments required. Your doctor at Áda will be able to advise you of expected treatment costs during your initial consultation.

What other scar removal treatments are there?

Thanks to new technology and advances in medicine, there are new methods of scar reduction that are proving to be extremely effective for some individuals. The use of dermal fillers – both temporary and permanent – can be an incredibly effective treatment in acne scar reduction and other types of scars on the face and body. Dermal fillers work best in depressed scars (those sunken into the skin) and work by plumping out the area to create a smoother, more levelled surface. They also help by stimulating collagen production in the skin which can further help to improve acne scarring or other types of scars.

Micro-Needling (Dermastamp) & Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Scar Reduction

By combining micro-needling and PRP treatments, many individuals have found a great improvement in scar appearance, particularly in those with hypopigmentation or for those who are not deemed suitable for laser scar removal. It is also a useful treatment for those who have had laser scar reduction previously but have not reached optimal results.

Will my scars be removed completely?

It is worth noting that there is currently no treatment that can fully remove established scars and restore normal skin on that area, however, our range of highly advanced treatments and expertise can greatly improve the appearance of your scar tissue so that it blends in better with the surrounding skin making it much less noticeable.

Who will be doing my scar removal treatment?

At Áda, our experienced laser doctors conduct all consultations, treatment planning, and treatments – we do not have any laser nurses or laser practitioners at any of our clinics, ensuring that only expertly qualified doctors look after your skin.
