Combining PRP and micro needling for a better result
Ada Aesthetic Medicine provides patients with the opportunity for better results, less scarring and less downtime, by combining two popular anti-ageing treatments.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma?
PRP or platelet rich plasma is a skin regeneration technique that uses your own cells, taken from your blood, to stimulate the renewal of aged or impaired skin.
The technique has been studied over the last 10 years in various medical treatments as platelets are responsible for the body’s everyday repair system. By harnessing these repairing cells and injecting them into areas of aged or damaged skin we are able to utilise the body’s own repair system to promote the growth of new tissue.
PRP is a popular treatment as it is minimally invasive, leaves no scarring, and requires no downtime. The treatment does not damage the epidermis (the outer layer of skin), as the treatment relies on the natural immune system of the body at work.

What is micro needling?
Micro needling or skin needling utilises a vibrating handpiece which applies very fine needles to the skin in order to promote rejuvenation. By making these micro wounds, the body’s natural repair process is engaged, inducing new skin growth and repair, increasing collagen and repairing damaged or scarred areas.

Why combine them?
When PRP is performed, you will receive a blood test to remove a small sample of blood. From there the blood is spun at high speed in order to separate out, leaving a layer of plasma which is rich in platelets. The plasma is then injected into your skin.
When combined with micro needling, the plasma is applied to the skin’s surface, directly into the micro wounds. This direct contact enhances the effectiveness of the PRP treatment as the plasma is injected into the desired area of rejuvenation.
What can be improved using micro needling with PRP?
