Bruise Treatment Sydney NSW
Fade bruises quickly through laser treatment
Bruising of the skin can be slow to clear and may take up to 2 weeks to completely go. This can be of particular concern to patients who have had elective procedures especially treatment on the face, such as Botox injections, dermal fillers or surgical procedures.
Treatment options for bruise removal
Until now the treatments available to speed up the removal of bruising have been relatively ineffective. Topical treatments have been the main options such as arnica creams or Hirudoid ointment, neither giving reliable or significant results. Laser treatment is a new option that can give significantly faster, predictable and reliable results. The laser used is a specific visible wavelength light.
How quickly will you see improvement?
In the patients we have treated, we have seen rapid fading within 12 to 24 hours after laser treatment. A small light bruise can be cleared in 24 hours. A deep dark purple bruise can be removed 2-3 times faster than no treatment. For example, a dark bruise may take two weeks to clear, but with laser treatment it can be removed or faded in 3-5 days. In all cases the bruise starts fading within a few hours, making cover up easier.
How many treatments are needed?
A light bruise will only need one treatment. A deep, dark bruise can be treated every 24 hours until it has completely cleared (usually within 3-5 days).
When can I start treatment?
Laser treatment can be started soon after the bruise has become evident, which is usually 18 to 24 hours from its onset. The treatment takes only a few minutes and is relatively painless.
